My Life

My name is Cheech and I am an 8lb neutered male Chihuahua. I was born January 8th, 2007. I was bought when I was 7 weeks old at a petstore in Muncie, Indiana that closed and relocated soon after. I have no health problems and I am extremely active. I am not a pet but a very much loved member of my family. I have my own website because I wish to break the stereotype that Chihuahuas are accessories for young rich girls who force their Chihuahuas to live in handbags and used as fashion statements.

I have a monkey puppet that I have had all my life. Sometimes I love it and sometimes I beat it up! I wake everyone up the same time everyday to get the day started! Dad and I read the paper and we all share breakfast together. I am a real dog like any other breed. I have purpose. Some Chihuahuas become close to one member of the family but not me. I love my family and I don't have a favorite even though I stay close to mom more than the others. I love getting dirty and rolling in stinky things. I run around in my big backyard all day, everyday!

I was trained to go outside and do my business at 10 weeks in the middle of January. I nearly froze to death several times but Mom never gave up. So I never have pissed in the house or left them a nice turd to step in. I've never seen or used a potty pad in my life. I enjoy going for rides to the store or too the park. When we go on bike rides I ride in a basket hooked to the handlebars and I bark at people as we ride by. I never had the chance to swim yet but I am sure I will give it a shot soon!

Yes I do have a temper when I see a stranger around my house! I let everyone know in a heartbeat by barking until they go check who it is. I never bark for no reason. One night I was by the laundry room door and I kept looking under it and sniffing then looking up at mom. She thought I needed to go outside but I wouldn't budge when she called for me to go out. She picked me up and sat me outside. I quickly ran back inside and sat by the door again. She came toward the door to open it and I wagged my tail. When she opened the door she saw the floor was flooded in 2 inches of water that was pouring out of our washer! If I would not have sat there like I did there could have been major damage done to the house! So now they pay attention to me when I act differently.

Being a Chihuahua, the smallest breed of all dogs is not easy. We risk being attacked my bigger dogs, dropped by little kids, hawks or birds of prey will swoop down and take us up high to eat, spider bites can kill Chihuahuas, being stepped on or sat on, heat from hot streets and sidewalks, winter days and nights can kill us too. Also certain foods are poisonous to us and house plants. Even though there are so many dangers Chihuahuas are still a very tough breed and are loving family dogs.

Thank you for taking the time to come here! Feel free to stop by the forum, that's where me and all of my friends hang out. Or stop by the chatbox, sometimes we are talking to each other live and in real time!
